In this short documentary, I want to tell the stories of some of the animal rescue volunteers and veterinarians I worked with in the past few years, who aim to help one of the world’s
most underrepresented animals – the city pigeons.Professional media representation is often lacking in animal rescue — that is why I aim to show outsiders the fascinating and nerve-wrecking work of pigeon egg swapping in urban settings. Egg swapping is one of the most important, humane and sustainable forms of population control. As shown in the film, the swapping frequently takes place on rooftops, in abandoned buildings or bridges, which presents unique challenges for the volunteers as well as for the film crew.This documentary tells the story from the perspective of the dedicated team, which works towards creating a humane future for the city pigeons.
