There are experiences that cannot be clearly localized because they arise between cultural and geographical spaces. For many third-culture children, it is precisely this in-between state that shapes them — a state that does not thrive on belonging, but on transitions and constant reorientation. In my photo project, I reflect on my own experience of growing up between two cultural systems and repeated changes of location. The series shows observations, quiet moments, and inner states that make such a life in between spaces tangible. It invites viewers to explore the nuances of identity that are not defined by clear boundaries, but by mobility, adaptation, and a constant renegotiation of closeness and distance. What does it mean to stand between cultures? How do migration, family influences, and social expectations shape personal perception and self-definition?
