My motivation for the project stems from my passion for bodybuilding and my daily experience as a trainer.
NÉVO
A Breath- and Movement-Guiding Feedback System
Our motivation for NÉVO grew out of everyday sports practice and our work with trainees. More
and more people are losing their sense of bodily awareness. They struggle to activate specific
muscle groups, control their posture, or develop a healthy perception of their own bodies. Small
tactile cues — like those given by trainers during exercises — often work wonders. Without
these impulses, however, many find it difficult to correct their movements. This need became
particularly evident among individuals afected by scoliosis, who require additional support in
directing their breathing and movement.
These observations led to a concept designed to sustainably strengthen body awareness,
postural stability, and movement competence—motivating, applicable to everyday life, and
preventive. After all, posture is not only a health-related factor; it also shapes our presence,
confidence, and the way we interact with others.
The greatest challenge lay in the intensive, independent research. Interviews with physicians,
therapists, surgeons, and afected individuals significantly shaped our process and underscored
the relevance of our approach.
With NÉVO, we are developing a visionary, medically oriented wearable system that
demonstrates how movement motivation and health prevention can be reimagined in the digital
age.
