I’ve been thinking a lot about how diffcult it has become in the home office to feel clear boundaries between work and personal time.
Home
A desk lamp for a conscious shift between work and relaxation.
In my project I’m developing a desk lamp that deliberately differentiates between work mode and relaxation. HOME is an elongated
light that changes through a gentle twisting motion: when you tilt the angled tip downward, it creates a clear, focused work light.
When you turn it upward, the same body emits a warm, soft evening glow. I’m interested in how we can create a mental boundary in the home offce without altering the space itself. HOME doesn’t bring the offce into the home—it brings the feeling of home back into the way we work. It doesn’t look like a typical desk lamp but rather like a deliberate object that belongs in a living space. Through the rotational gesture, a small ritual emerges—one that makes the transition between focus and rest tangible. HOME not only supports functionally, but also shapes the moment when the day ends and the evening begins.
