When I was far away from familiar support and talk therapy wasn't helping me, I discovered alternative ways of healing through exercise.
Intensa
A podcast about reclaiming your body, moving through trauma, and turning it into empowerment.
Research shows that many survivors of sexualized violence lose their sense of connection to their bodies. This dissociation is not a weakness but a protective response. Yet how can someone reconnect with a body that is both a place of trust and of pain? This is where the podcast steps in: As a survivor, I share conversations with experts to show how alternative approaches can help you return to the present and rediscover your relationship with your body. Studies confrm that therapies involving movement (such as dance or somatic therapy) are effective where words alone are not enough. These approaches help people to reconnect with their bodies, process emotions, and regain inner strength. For me, movement became both my voice and a safe space, a place where healing and empowerment became possible. In this podcast, we explore how movement connects body and mind and reminds you that your trauma does not defne you. You learn to reclaim your body, your story, and your voice. You are strong. You are powerful. You are intensa.
